Canada's World Cup win has me thinking... ⚽️

Hello Reader,

One of my favourite moments this weekend had nothing to do with money.

It was watching Canada celebrate a historic World Cup victory.

What struck me wasn't just the scoreboard. It was knowing that no one sees the thousands of small decisions that made that moment possible.

The early mornings. The setbacks. The adjustments. The consistency.

We celebrate the breakthrough.

We rarely celebrate the preparation.

And I think our financial lives work the same way.

Have you ever noticed how much life can change while the way we manage our money stays exactly the same?

I've been thinking about this a lot lately.

When we're in our twenties and thirties, money often has a clear purpose. We're paying off student loans, buying our first home, raising children, or simply trying to make ends meet.

Then, almost without realizing it, life shifts.

The kids grow up.

Our parents begin needing more support.

Retirement starts feeling less like "someday" and more like a date on the calendar.

Our priorities change.

But our financial habits?

Many of them stay exactly the same.

That's why I don't believe financial organization is really about creating a better budget.

I think it's about recognizing that every season of life asks something different of us.

The financial decisions that served you ten years ago may not be the decisions that serve you today.

Maybe this is the season to build your retirement savings.

Maybe it's the season to pay down debt.

Maybe it's the season to create an emergency fund because life feels a little less predictable than it once did.

Or maybe it's simply the season to become more intentional with where your money goes.

I've noticed something after years of working with women and managing my own finances.

We often spend so much time asking:

"How do I save more?"

When perhaps the better question is:

"Does the way I'm using my money still reflect the life I'm living today?"

Those are two very different questions.

One focuses on numbers.

The other focuses on purpose.

This week, I released the first video in a brand-new 90-day series where we're going to organize our money one simple step at a time.

I share the framework I personally use to make financial decisions without relying on a strict budget and why I believe organization often matters more than perfection.

I think you'll find it encouraging, especially if you've ever felt like traditional budgeting advice just doesn't fit this stage of your life anymore.

Before you go, I'd love for you to think about one question this week:

If someone looked at your spending over the past three months, what would they say your priorities are?

Would they match the life you're trying to build?

There's no judgment in that question.

Just curiosity.

Sometimes awareness is the first step toward meaningful change.

Until next time,

P.S. If you've ever wondered why some financial habits seem to come naturally while others feel like an uphill battle, take my free Money Identity Quiz. Understanding your money personality can make organizing your finances feel much more natural.

Blessed with another year! Hey Reader, I feel like I say this every year, but seriously… where did 2025 go? How are we already two weeks away from Christmas? If you’re anything like me, this time of year probably brings up one big word: pressure The pressure to spend more. The pressure to do more. The pressure to be everywhere, for everyone. But this year, life handed me an unexpected lesson in letting go and I wanted to share it with you. In the past three months, my family has moved four...

July 2024 Hello Reader! I hope you all had an amazing June and are gearing up for a fantastic summer. June was a busy month for me, filled with celebrations, sports, and travel. First up, I had the joy of attending a couple of birthday celebrations. Celebrating with friends and family reminded me of the importance of setting aside time (and a budget) for these special moments. It's these little celebrations that add so much joy to our lives and strengthen our connections with loved ones. I...

May / June 2024 Aloha Reader! We just checked one of our goals off the bucket list! My husband's dream was to visit Hawaii, and it did not disappoint. The beauty of nature and realizing that we are just a speck in this vast world was amazing. But getting here wasn't a straight path. The plan was to go for his 50th birthday, which fell in 2021. I’m sure you remember what was going on during that time, so we postponed it to 2023. Then we booked our tickets and thought, "This is it!" In early...
